When someone purchases pharmaceuticals, he usually does not fully understand how long could be the process from pure substance to properly formed and packed pill.
This process is sophisticated and must be carried out under special conditions. Manufacturing is the initial step, after that medicines need to be boxed up and repacked.
After producing, the medicines are packed into large packages and shipped on. Pharmaceutical repackaging is often realised by an external corporation. This company gets pharmaceuticals and then divides them into smaller packagings, for instance blisters in cartons or plastic bottles. The containers, in which medicines are transported have to fulfil particular requirements. Sometimes the constant temperature is needed to save all the properties. That is the reason why some packages are particularly insulated. The process has a name of „cold chain”. For instance, some kinds of capsules or vaccines must be kept in the fridge – in patient’s house too. Another form of pharmaceutical repackaging is being realized in pharmacies. Some patients come to the drug store to buy prescription medicines. The proper drug is produced by pharmacist according to the physicians’ guidelines. So the pharmacies get larger amounts of specific ingredient, that are next divided into smaller parts, properly mixed and packed in smaller containers for patients. The pharmacist informs the client how to store this medicine and how much time it can be used without losing its properties.
A medicine is an exceptional product, which has to be packed with special care and magazined in particular conditions. The whole process guarantees that drug gets in patient’s hands in perfect condition and its value is fully retained.
